All-on-4 Q&A

What is All-on-4?

All-on-4 is a revolutionary method for restoring or replacing all of the teeth in one or both of your dental arches. It’s a patented procedure that uses four strategically placed dental implants to give you a new smile.

What are dental implants?

Dental implants are tiny titanium screws used as artificial tooth roots. The team embeds the implants in your jawbone, where they bond with your bone tissue and provide support for a restoration, like a crown, bridge, or dentures.

One of the benefits of dental implants is that they don’t require a one-to-one ratio. When you get All-on-4 implants, your dentist replaces an entire arch of teeth with just four dental implants.

Dental implants also have the added benefit of stimulating your jawbone. Your jawbone needs healthy stimulation to stay strong, otherwise, it can deteriorate, which compromises your oral health and affects the shape of your face.

Because dental implants connect directly to your jawbone, they provide it with much-needed stimulation.

What does getting All-on-4 involve?

Your All-on-4 treatment at Dental Renaissance begins with a complimentary consultation, during which your dentist reviews the procedure in detail and evaluates your oral health with digital diagnostic tools.

Once your mouth is ready for implants, your dentist performs a minor surgery to embed them in your jawbone. They place two implants at an angle in the back of your jaw, and two more implants upright towards the front.

Your provider makes sure to place the implants in the area of your jawbone where your bone tissue is the thickest so that they’ll be able to firmly anchor. This also eliminates the need for a bone graft.

Once the implants are placed, your dentist fits you with a temporary prosthetic, so you leave the office with a beautiful new smile. The treatment is sometimes referred to as “teeth in a day” for this reason.

Eventually, you come back to Dental Renaissance to get a permanent set of dentures that are custom-built for your unique smile.
