About Dr. Blankenship

Kari Blankenship, DDS, is an experienced dentist at Dental Renaissance in Plano, Texas. Her career in the dental field spans almost a full decade, and she never gets tired of helping others smile.

Dr. Blankenship was initially drawn to dentistry because she loved the combination of science, biology, and art. After attending Hunter College and earning two degrees in biology and philosophy, she completed her doctorate at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. From there, she completed a general practice residency at Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center that focused on oral surgery and periodontics, among other specialty services. During this time, she rotated through the MD Anderson Cancer Center, where she gained invaluable experience treating medically compromised patients.

Today, Dr. Blankenship continues to pursue further advanced training so she can stay up to date with the latest developments in the oral health care field. This includes continuing education courses in dental implants, oral surgery, and cosmetic dentistry. She’s studied with Nobel Biocare as well as the prestigious Pikos Institute. This commitment helps her consistently elevate the quality of her care and expand her knowledge.

When she isn’t busy at the dental office, Dr. Blankenship’s first priority is spending lots of quality time with her husband and other family members. She also has a corgi named Ellie and a chihuahua named Biscuits, both of whom she loves dearly. Her favorite hobby is trying out new restaurants and cuisines, and she also enjoys cooking at home.
