Meet Our Plano Dental Team
Lea, Patient Care Specialist
When you come to our Plano office for a visit, Lea’s bright smile and friendly personality ensure that you have a comfortable and positive experience. As our office’s Patient Care Specialist, she’s usually the first person you talk to when you call and the last person you see before leaving. She’s also responsible for coordinating our office’s daily schedule and assisting patients with their treatment planning needs.
Lea is mindful of our patients’ comfort and has an incredible passion for both life and dentistry. She loves to laugh and spend time with her children. She also enjoys basketball, fishing, and photography.
Karla, Office Manager
Karla has nearly 30 years of experience in dentistry, and for much of that time she’s been one of Dr. Pollard’s dental assistants. Now, as our office manager, she helps us keep everything running smoothly on a day-to-day basis. She’s also happy to help patients with their treatment questions.
Away from the office, Karla enjoys basketball and spending time with her family and friends. She’s also a member of Rodgers Baptist Church.
Ellen, Dental Hygienist
Ellen graduated in 1981 from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene. She brings many years of experience in preventive and periodontal therapy to the practice. She is responsible for multiple areas of preventive care including periodontal therapy, sealants and patient education. She is a member of the American Dental Hygienists Association, the TDHA and the Sigma Phi Alpha Dental Hygiene Honor Society. When she is not working, she stays busy with her three teenage children and enjoys golf, bike rides and traveling with her husband. Ellen has been providing dental hygiene services for Dr. Pollard’s patients since 1995.
Nicole, Dental Hygienist
Nicole Simien is a native of Shreveport, LA and attended the University of Louisiana at Monroe where she received her bachelor of science in dental hygiene in 2002. After graduation, she practiced in Shreveport with Dr. Monica Davenport at Davenport Family Dental for over three years. In 2005, she married her college sweetheart, Jason, who commissioned into the US Marine corps as a KC-130 pilot and they moved to Okinawa, Japan. While stationed in Okinawa, she practiced on base at the Camp Foster Dental Clinic treating active duty members and their families for the next there and a half years. In 2009, they left the island of Okinawa and transferred to Twenty-Nine Palms, California where she continued her career as a full-time hygienist treating marines and sailors training for Afghanistan. After a two and a half year tour in Twenty-Nine Palms, Jason and Nicole transferred to the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego. She transferred to Camp Pendleton to work full-time as a hygienist at Camp Del Mar Dental Clinic treating 1MEF and Wounded Warrior marines and sailors. This command tour was life changing for her and her career. In 2012, she was a recipient for the Top Civil Service Clinical Clinician award.
In late September 2013, Jason and Nicole decided to make Dallas, TX their final residence. Jason joined the Texas Air National Guard as a C-130 pilot and a First Officer with Express Jet Airlines, and Nicole decided to return to private practice as a full-time hygienist. Jason and Nicole have no children, but they do have a forty-four pound English bulldog named Remi who they consider their child.
Angie, Dental Hygienist
Angie graduated Cum Laude from Texas Women's University after attending Allen High School. Her mother was a dental assistant for 30 years, and Angie was interested in dentistry at a young age. In our office, she provides gum disease therapy, places dental sealants, and educates patients about oral healthcare and gum disease prevention. After hours, Angie enjoys movies, antiquing, cooking with her husband, Brian, and spending time with family and friends. Angie has been providing full-time dental hygiene services for our patients for five years.
Heather, Dental Assistant
As one of our dental assistants, Heather has the opportunity to work with, and learn from, new and returning patients every day. She previously studied at Collin College and is working on a degree in biology at the University of North Texas. Together with her boyfriend, she’s the proud owner of a Doberman. When she’s not at the office, Heather enjoys yoga and is even a certified yoga instructor. She also enjoys being outdoors and going on road trips. When she was younger Heather was both a competitive gymnast and cheerleader.
