Dr. Kari Blankenship
Dr. Blankenship’s career in the dental field spans almost a full decade so far, and she never gets tired of helping others smile! She was initially drawn to this career because she loved the combo of science, art, and creativity – plus, it feels like she learns something new every day. Where Did You Study Dentistry?
After attending Hunter College and earning two degrees (one in Biology and one in Philosophy), Dr. Blankenship completed her doctorate at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. From there, she completed her General Practice Residency at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Hospital, focusing in advanced oral surgery techniques, prosthodontics, periodontics, emergency medicine, and anesthesia. She also rotated through the MD Anderson Cancer Center during her residency.
What Kind of Advanced Dental Training Do You Have?
Today, Dr. Blankenship continues to take a great deal of continuing education courses in oral surgery and dental implants, including courses with Nobel Biocare and the prestigious Pikos Institute. This commitment to advanced training helps her elevate the quality of her care even further for the sake of her patients.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Outside of work, Dr. Blankenship spends lots of time with her husband and other family members. She also LOVES her dogs – a Corgi named Ellie and a Chihuahua named Biscuits. In her spare time, you can usually find her cooking and trying out new restaurants and cuisines.
