Tooth-Colored Fillings

Our tooth-colored fillings are made of quality composite resin, and they offer patients several advantages over their traditional amalgam alternatives. Dr. Blankenship, Dr. Pollard or Dr. Patel can contour and shade the filling to perfectly match your natural enamel creating an aesthetically pleasing appearance that’s sure to make you smile. We can also conserve more of your healthy tooth structure during the treatment, and the lack of metallic material means that you won’t experience discomfort when eating particularly hot or cold foods.

All-Ceramic Restorations

Here in Plano, our dental team doesn’t want anyone to choose between maintaining oral health and preserving naturally beautiful smiles. Instead, all-ceramic restorations give you the best of both worlds! These personalized crowns, inlays, and onlays are made of high-quality dental porcelain, which is so similar to tooth enamel that it even reflects light in the same way. In addition to their lifelike nature, these restorations are also much more biocompatible overall, which means that even patients with metallic allergies or sensitivities can enjoy them.

Teeth Whitening

You don't have to undergo plastic surgery or spend thousands of dollars to look younger. Professional teeth whitening can lighten stains and take years off your appearance. Safe, affordable, and effective, teeth whitening can penetrate discolorations to reveal a brilliant smile.

Teeth Whitening Options Available

We offer in-office or at-home teeth whitening so our patients have options that suit their specific needs. With in-office treatment, your dentist will isolate teeth and then paint a bleaching agent over each one, so you can whiten certain teeth or your whole smile. This method also lets us treat specific areas that may have streaks, dark spots, and deep stains.

Some people want to whiten when it fits their schedules, so we take molds of their teeth and give them custom take-home kits. With take-home teeth whitening, you fill the trays with the professional-strength bleaching gel and wear them as directed. You may see a difference immediately, but continue the full teeth-whitening course, usually 10 to 14 days, for a lasting impact.

Porcelain Veneers

Have flaws and imperfections kept you from looking your best? You don't have to settle for an unappealing smile. Custom porcelain veneers remove discolorations, close gaps, and create a uniform appearance.

What to Expect During Your Consultation

Handcrafted from beautiful dental porcelain, veneers can be tinted to match your natural teeth so that you can achieve natural-looking results. Dr. Blankenship, Dr. Pollard or Dr. Patel will study your features, coloring, and tooth shape before selecting porcelain veneers that project the stunning image you want to convey. In just two to three visits, you can attain a fabulous, new look.

Porcelain Veneers Procedure

During the first appointment, your dentist will prepare the teeth by removing a thin layer of enamel and reshaping the teeth. We take impressions and collect measurements so the ceramist will have the necessary information to design your custom restorations. Dr. Blankenship, Dr. Pollard or Dr. Patel may also place temporary veneers, which will give you a preview of your smile transformation. You will return for final placement and adjustments once we receive the permanent veneers in our Plano office.

Invisalign Clear Braces

If you would like a straighter smile, but hate the thought of having a "metal mouth," we can help. Advances in orthodontics allow adult and older teen patients to have straight teeth without wearing unattractive metal brackets. Invisalign clear braces are virtually unnoticeable but provide the same results as traditional braces.

Benefits of Straightening Your Smile with Invisalign

With Invisalign clear braces, you can transform your smile without damaging your polished image. The Invisalign system moves teeth into the correct position with a series of clear, custom aligners. Made of comfortable acrylic, the aligners fit snugly over teeth, exerting gentle pressure to adjust tooth position. Treatment time with Invisalign clear braces averages 12 to 18 months, substantially less than traditional orthodontia.

What to Expect During Invisalign Treatment

To begin, your dentist will take X-rays and photos of your mouth. An Invisalign-certified lab will produce your complete series of aligners based on this data. Wear each aligner for about two weeks, and then continue with the next one. For optimal results, you need to wear the Invisalign clear braces most of the time, around 22 hours a day, but you can remove them for eating, brushing, and for special occasions.
